Concierge Health Insights: Answering Frequently Asked Questions

Your health and comfort are our top priorities. We understand that choosing personalized healthcare raises questions, so we’re here to provide clear answers to help you navigate your concierge health journey with us.

How long are appointments with the doctor?

At Hoag Concierge Medicine, we value your time and prioritize comprehensive care. Office visits typically last about an hour, ensuring ample time for thorough discussions and personalized attention. For annual physicals and more in-depth appointments, plan for up to an hour and a half to two hours. Your health and well-being deserve the unhurried attention we provide.

Do I no longer use urgent care?

We aim to provide comprehensive care, including after-hours support through your doctor and dedicated team. Your physician or nursing staff will be able to guide you on whether you need to seek urgent or emergency services or if you should come to the office for an appointment. Your safety and health are our utmost priorities.

Do I get a team that assists me in the office?

Absolutely. When you join Hoag Concierge Medicine, you gain access to a dedicated care team committed to supporting your health journey:

  • Concierge Doctor: Your primary care provider and leader in personalized healthcare.
  • Medical Assistant or LVN: Provides essential support during appointments, from assisting with clinical calls and questions to conducting rooming and vital checks.
  • Care Coordinator: Facilitates seamless navigation through the Hoag Health Care System, scheduling specialty appointments, and assisting with insurance authorizations.
  • Member Concierge Receptionist + Membership Coordinator: Assists with scheduling, provides information on membership benefits, and addresses membership billing inquiries.

Our team-based approach ensures you receive personalized, attentive care that meets your unique needs.

Does insurance cover the concierge health membership fee?

The membership fee at Hoag Concierge Medicine is an out-of-pocket expense and is not covered by insurance. However, rest assured that all medical and clinical visits, including doctor’s visits, lab work, imaging, and specialty visits, are billed through your insurance. We accept most major PPO insurances, and you are responsible for any premiums, copays, or deductibles as outlined by your insurance plan.

Can I use my HSA Card?

Yes, you can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) card to cover your membership fee at Hoag Concierge Medicine. We can set your HSA card as the default payment method for your membership. Please note, we require a backup credit card on file to handle any charges that may not process on your HSA card, ensuring seamless payment processing and uninterrupted access to personalized concierge healthcare services.
