Exercise Physiology

Movement as Medicine

Leading an active lifestyle and consistently exercising can help address, and sometimes reverse, many common health challenges such as type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and chronic stress.

However, most people don’t prioritize exercise because they feel overwhelmed or don’t know where to start. Whether someone is pressed for time, lacks accountability, or is unsure what type of movement is best for their body and personal circumstance, Hoag’s Exercise Physiology department offers personalized care and clinical solutions that contribute to improved health and wellness.

As a Hoag Concierge member, you have access to a world-class, comprehensive, personalized care team including Orange County’s top exercise physiologists.

Accessibility That Supports Results

Adding Exercise Physiology to the Hoag Experience

There are a few ways patients can experience exercise physiology. Most appointments are held in-person at Hoag’s state-of-the-art facility in Newport Beach, California. Patients come in for their intake meeting, establish goals, and create a routine with their exercise physiologist. Then, patients can return at their convenience to use the onsite gym and check in with their care team for additional support and maintenance sessions.

To assist those who may travel frequently, exercise physiologists can provide virtual care through phone or video appointments upon request.

Those who are part of the Hoag Executive Health program may request a one-on-one wellness consultation with an exercise physiologist after their annual physical exam and lab work is complete; or, they may be referred to an exercise physiologist by their physician. We can also discuss adding exercise physiology as a voluntary benefit to your organization’s Total Rewards program.
